Experienced Breeders
Our passion for Bernese Mountain Dogs and our dream of becoming breeders began in 2003 when my husband and I gifted each other our first Bernese puppy as a wedding present. I had always admired the breed and knew I would have one eventually. While I’ve had experience with many other dog breeds, nothing quite compares to having a Berner!
Both my husband and I were raised in families that nurtured puppies—his family bred Golden Retrievers, while mine raised English Setters. I always envisioned the day when I could raise Bernese puppies and share that experience with my children.
Our Sires and Dams
All of our sires and dams are registered with the American Kennel Club. We carefully research bloodlines and pedigrees to ensure they come from strong, healthy lineage and are well-suited to producing high-quality, happy puppies.
Adopting Your New Family Member
The first step in adopting a puppy is completing the application. Once we receive and approve your application, we will contact you to submit a non-refundable "Reservation Fee" to secure your puppy. This fee will be applied toward the final purchase price. After the litter arrives and we confirm the puppies are healthy and thriving, they will be available for reservation. Once the reservation fee is paid, we will send a confirmation email acknowledging receipt of your payment.
Pickup, and delivery options
You can pick up your puppy when it reaches 8 weeks old, with the remaining balance due in cash at the time of pickup. If you're unable to collect your puppy from Riverside Berners Kennel, we offer the option to meet you at DFW Airport, where your puppy can fly at your feet. You'll need to bring a soft-sided pet carrier, and airlines will apply a pet fee. We’re happy to assist in planning your trip. Please note that airport deliveries require an additional fee, which must be paid before pickup.

These affectionate dogs make excellent family pets, thriving in the company of children and other animals while eagerly participating in family activities. Enthusiasts admire their intelligence and deep devotion to their families. They are protective yet non-aggressive, loyal while maintaining independence, and energetic without being overwhelming.
With a Bernese Mountain Dog by your side, you’ll never feel alone. Fondly called the Berner, this breed craves companionship and prefers to be with its family as much as possible. However, they don’t cope well with long periods of solitude and may become mischievous if left alone for too long.
